Gokokuji Temple

So, I figured out a way to adventure without spending money. Or at least, too much money. Visiting temples! Yesterday, I wasn't really planning on doing anything when a fellow dorm mate asked me if I wanted to go to Gokokuji. Um, yes please. The best part? The Gokokuji station is on my school route, so the train pass was "free".

The dorm mate I went with was really knowledgeable about the Japanese religion that surrounded the temple, so it was a pretty interesting experience.

All of the statues were really cool to look at, though I think most of them were really old. The temple itself had a bunch of luck charms you could buy. However, if you got a bad luck charm you were supposed to tie it to a tree so the bad luck wouldn't follow you home.

Next to the temple is a cemetery, which I took a bunch of pictures of, but out of respect I decided not to post any close up pictures of personal grave. However, there were also some historical figures buried at Gokokuji, and I took pictures of those graves!

And there's a bit of Japanese culture!
