I Can Explain...

So, there's been a lack of posting this week on the blog. I can explain that. Really, I can. Firstly, classes started- so this last week was my first full week at school. Secondly, I didn't take any pictures this week. I know, shocking. But, I thought it would be rude to my professors to whip my camera out in the middle of class and start clicking away. Maybe they aren't the best excuses, but they're the only ones I have!

But, the weekend is here now, so I can type away! I went to my Theories of NGOs class on Monday- it was packed! I thought, with it being such a late class, no way there was going to be more than a handful of us. Nope. It's actually pretty close to thirty people. Although, the schedule deadline was Thursday, so we'll see if this coming Monday if the class stays that full.

On Tuesday, I found a small Christian group that meets. Now I won't go into all the gory details, but they seem like a pretty tight knit group. However, they were very welcoming. Furthermore, none of the student can speak English so it will be a time for me to practice my Japanese. You know, once I figure out words to express my feelings. Funnily enough, they don't teach that in Japanese class.

Speaking of practicing Japanese. There is another group that I am considering joining. It's called SISEC, and is a club on campus that reaches out to international students. They get together for lunch, and the more I hang out with them, the more comfortable I feel trying to express myself in Japanese. I have to keep reminding myself that I have only in Japan for about three weeks, and that fluency will come with time. I will have to keep trying!

My Saturday plans also involve SISEC actually. They have created an event called Tokyo Tour, and are  showing the exchange students around Tokyo for the day- should be exciting! I promise to take lots of pictures!
